A DNA paternity test proves or disproves the biological relationship between a man and a child. Advanced DNA Services’ laboratory offers the most reliable DNA testing to help our clients determine that critical relationship. Our DNA testing service is delivered with strict confidentiality and highest expertise. Our DNA reports are accepted by courts of law throughout the country, U. S. immigration services including USCIS and American embassies, and some foreign governments for their decisions in civil and legal matters.
Accuracy
Advanced DNA Services’ paternity test proves conclusively that the tested man is NOT the biological father of the child. In such cases, the tested man’s genes do not match the child’s genes on at least three different genes. The probability of paternity is 0%, and we are 100% certain that he is NOT the child’s biological father.
The average probability of paternity achieved by our prestigious laboratory is typically greater than 99.99999%. We guarantee greater than 99.9% probability of paternity in all tests where the child and alleged father are tested, which in normal legal and scientific understanding also conclusively proves the alleged father is the child’s biological father.
Who needs to be tested?
In a standard DNA paternity test, the mother, the child and the alleged father will be tested to determine whether the alleged father is the biological father of the child. Advanced DNA Services routinely provides the test without the mother’s participation if she is not willing or available to participate in this DNA test. However, we encourage the participation of the mother because the mother’s participation will help to exclude the child’s DNA inherited from the mother, making the DNA data comparison between the father and son easier. Unlike a lot of other DNA testing laboratories, Advanced DNA doesn’t charge additional fees for mother’s participation. The DNA paternity testing results with or without mother’s participation are equally accurate and conclusive.
Advanced DNA Services also offers paternity test before the child is born typically between 10 and 24 weeks of pregnancy. DNA testing samples of the baby may be collected through CVS (Chorionic Villus Sampling) or Amniocentesis procedures. In such cases, our laboratory can perform DNA test as an adjunct to the medical tests your OB-GYN plans to perform. We do not recommend this option for DNA paternity test only at this stage because there are some risks to the mother and the fetus involved in the sample collection procedure. Advanced DNA highly recommend you talk to your OB-GYN and get information about the risks involved in the procedures before making a decision.
How to initiate a DNA test?
To set up your DNA test with Advanced DNA, you can simply call 513-234-5678 and talk to one of our knowledgeable and caring DNA testing consultants. A dedicated case manager will be assigned to you and walk you through the testing process from the beginning to the end, including explaining your DNA testing results.
Schedule a DNA sample collection appointment
Once your case is set up with Advanced DNA and a small deposit is made, we will schedule a sample collection appointment with one of our 2,500 collection clinics in the U. S. and around the world. You will be able to pick a convenient place near your home or work and a time that works best for you. After we get the appointment information, we will call to confirm your availability. Our large DNA sample collection network also allows all tested parties to go for collection at different times and locations if needed.
Collecting samples
Advanced DNA Services’ laboratory uses buccal swabs to collect DNA samples for paternity and other relationship tests. When you go to one of our clinics for sample collection as scheduled, a trained professional will use buccal swabs like cotton Q-tips to scrape on your inner cheeks for loose cells as testing samples. Since all cells in our body contain the same DNA information, the buccal samples are as good as blood and other tissues samples for our very sensitive DNA testing technology.
At collection, you will be asked to complete a Client Consent and ID Form for chain of custody purposes so that your DNA test results can be used as legally admissible evidence. As a neutral third party, the collector will also help you to complete the other half of the consent form, verifying your IDs and other personal information to satisfy this chain of custody requirement for legally admissible DNA tests.
For prenatal DNA tests, we offer the non-invasive paternity test that requires blood sample from the mother and a regular buccal swab sample from the father. Alternatively, the child’s DNA testing samples may be collected through CVS (Chorionic Villus Sampling) or Amniocentesis procedures while the mother’s and the alleged father’s samples can be collected using buccal swabs as in a standard paternity test.
Testing at the laboratory
After our laboratory receives all tested parties’ samples, your DNA test will begin. It takes only 3-5 working days for our laboratory to generate your DNA testing results. The typical technology we use in the lab is PCR, which is the most current and sensitive technology to perform DNA tests with a small quantity of samples in a time efficient way.
After the raw data is generated, our experienced scientists will analyze the data and draw a conclusion on the biological relationships between tested parties.
Delivering results
Our DNA test report will be reviewed and signed by a PhD scientist after the raw data is analyzed. The report is also internally notarized to ensure its authenticity. After that, your report will be mailed to the address(es) you designate on the consent and ID form you sign at the collection appointment. You can then use this legally admissible DNA test report for legal matters, immigration, adoption or simply peace of mind.
Genetic Mutation
Genetic mutation occurs in approximately 2% of the population. When it is witnessed in our laboratory, additional extended DNA testing is needed to generate conclusive results. In the extended DNA test, our laboratory will use additional DNA markers to run more sophisticated statistical calculation in order to reach the conclusions. Our DNA testing laboratory is one of the very few high quality DNA laboratories that are capable to perform this type of extended testing in a paternity case.
Notice for New York residents
Advanced DNA’s laboratory is accredited by New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and follows its regulation for DNA testing strictly. NYSDOH requires all DNA tests originated from New York be requested by a physician or court order or the immigration authorities.
